Writing Instruction

Students need time to develop writing skills, but teachers often cannot devote the attention required to address individual weaknesses and to provide specific advice. My practice integrates current critical thinking standards and course expectations while allowing students to gain confidence and satisfaction in academic writing contexts. I strive to enable high school students to be more successful writers as they advance in the classroom, but I also hope to empower young adults to communicate more effectively overall.

In addition to working one-on-one, I provide small workshops over the summer to focus on particular writing skills such as integrating sources and revising.
